Hawaii Figure Skating Club (HFSC)

Hello and welcome to the iceskating blog, in this page I am going to share a little bit about my home town rink in Hawaii. This is my my club I belong to that I am proud to represent. This is located in Honolulu capital city of Hawaii. I believe the street is salt lake or something like that. Anyway in this club there are many things you can participate in, such as

  1. Club skates, every few months or so, or when a holiday is coming the HFSC puts together a club skate which brings all club members to have a time to skate, talk, do games on ice, eat food, which every one who is coming has to bring a food item. This does cost money and any other video they charge extra
  2. Skater of the month, at our rink, we are proud to share about a skater, and keep it there for one month, every month it changes, I do believe it is required that you have to be in the club to participate in this event. This is like where you mention some favorites about you, and stuff like that.
  3. This is not really a club thing but, every year Hawaii skating rink puts on a competition called Hawaiian open, this is like any skating competition, you show up wearing your outfit, apply any make up or whatever, you warm up with the people you are competing against and skate. You get a special medal at the end.
  4. As a club member it is required that you have to do at least 10 hours of community service for the rink, not just any old community service and or you have to bring in at least 10 USFS magazines, unfortunately you have to pay a certain amount of money for each hour you don't complete which always ends up costing a fortune if you don't clear up a bunch of the hours.
Those are mostly the events or things that you have to do as a club member. For more information check out Hawaiifigureskating. I hope this sounded interesting, and we are always happy to have new members, so if you live in Hawaii come down and join us, and even if you don't live in Hawaii at least come by and take a visit!
